Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modelling career there. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film that she played her first part in, was her debut part. The struggle she had to get an appearance for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. Amy had a difficult time making the leap from modeling into acting, as models are not usually considered an actor of high quality. Models are often only given minor or unimportant roles. Amy was never discouraged. Her first major roles were in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. In 2005, she was cast part in the leading role of the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained the recognition she had been searching for for more than 10 years, when her movie called Just Friends came out. Amy went on to appear in major film projects such as the Crank Series with Jason Statham, and Shameless.
