Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had many abilities, which included the ability perform, direct and produce plays, as well as write them as well as teach and serve as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father comes from Britain, while her mother is a "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England."
