Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. She also is the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. She was born in Greece and relocated to England when she was 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. As the first foreign student to serve as president in the famous debating group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the position. She became an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online voice platform with a critique of current the political landscape. The fame of Arianna has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. In addition to this, she led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes listed her the most powerful woman in media in 2009. She ranked in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her head of its media division, which also included the other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. While she was very close to her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that shaped her life. In her earliest years, she exhibited abilities to lead, and for this are still prominently known. At 16 years of age she moved into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. The third female president, and also the first foreigner she held the position of head of the Cambridge Union. In 1972, she earned an honorary degree in Economics. Her career as a journalist and television host was born after graduation. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
